Safe-Derm IV

Safe-Derm IV is a sterile transparent semipermeable filmdressing made of a thin very elastic polyurethane film combined with a non-woven material on the “legs” of the dressing for optimum anchoring of the IV cannula.

Safe-Derm IV is non-permeable to water and micro-organisms and therefore provides an efficient barrier against contamination of the puncture site from the environment and allows the patient to shower.

The secure anchoring reduces cannula movements which together with the protection against contamination reduces the risks of the patient developing thrombophlebetis.

Safe-Derm IV is coated with a hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive for minimum risk of skin reaction while ensuring maximum stay-time on the patient.

Monitoring of puncture site

The transparent PU film material allows the hospital staff to continuously monitor the area around the puncture site for signs of infection. This minimizes the need for dressing changes.
